Since 1989 multiple mobility surveys have been conducted in the city of Nuremberg. We would like to build on these results with the current survey. Over the past 40 years, a total of approximately 600 mobility surveys have been successfully carried out across cities using the tried-and-tested KONTIV method (Continuous survey for mobility behaviour) . As part of these surveys, residents are questioned about their mobility behaviour on all days of the year
In order to provide a representative result, the survey is conducted for a certain number of randomly selected households from Nuremberg. The selection is based on a random sample from the registration office of the city of Nuremberg.
In order to keep the effort of the selected households and persons as low as possible, we only ask for information on a selected weekday ("assigned survey day"). The collection of all responses then provides a representative result of the traffic pattern on all the weekdays. All types of traffic events are important for the study. We kindly ask you to participate in the survey, regardless of whether you were ont the way a lot, a little or not at all on your "assigned survey day".
PB Consult´s planning office in Nuremberg was commissioned to develop the survey in collaboration with VAG Verkehrs-Aktiengesellschaft Nürnberg and the city of Nuremberg.
The investigation provides basic information about the daily traffic patterns in your local area - which modes of transport the citizens use; to which destination, at what time, and their purpose for joining traffic. The outcome of the investigation will provide an accurate picture of the current traffic conditions for all population groups - an information that is absolutely vital for the future-oriented development of traffic planning in all areas.

Our Team is glad to see your interest in the result of the survey. Since the investigation covers 365 days a year, it usually takes a long time before the results are published. As soon as the results of the survey are available, they will be published here
No individuals were selected for the study. Instead, a random sample was drawn from the current residents register of the city of Nuremberg . This means that it was not you personally who was selected, but your address.
The outcome of the investigation is supposed to provide an accurate picture of the current traffic conditions for all population groups. Therefore it is very important to have as many population groups as possible joining the survey. It does not matter, how old the participants are or how often they are on the move.
Even if you or another household member were not out on the assigned survey day, this is still important information for the investigation. A comprehensive mobility survey also includes information about peoples' "non-mobility". Please also indicate in the survey why you were not on the road on the assigned survey day.
The survey covers 365 days a year. In order to obtain a representative result of the traffic pattern on all days of the week, all randomly selected households were given their own assigned survey day. For the surveying purpose, you should fill out the questionnaire for the exact assigned survey day. If this is not possible, please fill out the questionnaire for the following identical weekday (e.g.: Thursday, March, 04 -> Thursday, March, 11).
The participation in the mobility survey is voluntary. You will not suffer any disadvantages if you do not participate. However, we sincerely ask for your cooperation. The more households participate in the survey, the more meaningful the results will be. If you do not want to take part in the survey and do not wish to receive any more information from us in the future, please let us know via our free service-hotline (0800 – 766 75 55) or via our contact form.
